911 How to Design a Low-Cost 3D Printed Laparoscopic Appendicectomy Simulation Model (LaApSi)?

Abstract Aim To develop a Low-cost Laparoscopic Appendicectomy Simulation (LaApSi) Model and to assess its application for surgical simulation in UK & Lower Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). ensure realistic accurate representation of the anatomy appendix laparoscopic appendicectomy procedure. Method Autodesk Fusion 360 software was used design mould which 3D printed using Ultimaker Tough PLA material. LaTeX material, Reschimica Shore 20 silicon Validity Testing following by HST Face Likert 5-Point scale. LaApSi model has been recently workshop endorsed RCSEd organised LMICs multiple times within (Hull Suture Centre Courses East England course Core Surgery). Results Successful Development local low-cost Appendix (under £5) vs expensive market models. Prototype testing results feedback from users outside are very positive inspiring. The continuous evolvement models based on efficacy via face validity 5 Point proved be effective as evidenced quantitative assessment where scored specification shape, size Texture: 90%, 96%, 92 % resemblance respectively. Conclusions notion creating LA provides variety potential benefits UK, it warrants support industry charity. These simulations aid offering standardised, affordable, safe method training.
